Job Applicant Privacy Policy

Honeybee Foods Corporation and Honeybee Foods (Canada) Corporation (collectively, “Jollibee,” “we,” or “our”) provide this job applicant privacy policy (“Applicant Privacy Policy”) regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of job applicants’ personal information in connection with our job recruitment, application, and hiring processes and activities. 

We recognize and respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. If you are a job application, please read this Applicant Privacy Policy carefully. Please note we maintain separate privacy policies for consumers and employees. Information We Collect From Job Applicants 

This Applicant Privacy Policy applies to information we collect that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked with, directly or indirectly, a particular individual who is or was a job applicant to Honeybee Foods Corporation (“Personal Information”). If you choose to apply for a position with us, we may collect the following categories of Personal Information from you:

Information provided in your job application or resume, including but not limited to your employment history, educational history (including institutions, degrees, and transcripts), qualifications, skills, professional memberships, licenses, trainings and certifications, references, recommendations, work-related contact information, desired salary, work availability and preferences, interview notes, foreign language capabilities, and results of any pre-hire assessments, tests, or evaluations. 

Geolocation Data 

None collected. 

Biometric Information 

None collected. 

Sensory Data 

Voicemails, audio or video interview recordings, surveillance camera footage from interviews at our facilities, or other similar audio or video information. 

Inferences 

We may infer characteristics regarding an applicant’s preferences, behaviors, aptitudes, and capabilities during the hiring process based on other types of information collected. 

Internet, Browsing, or Similar Network activity. 

We may collect information regarding your interaction with our website, including through the use of cookies and similar tracking technologies, including cookies, software development kits (SDKs), pixels, web beacons, tags, conversion API (CAPI), location-identifying technologies, and other similar technologies. You may learn more about our use of such technologies by viewing the section titled “Information Collected by Tracking Technologies” in our consumer Privacy Policy. 

Other Information Submitted With Your Application 

Any other information about you that you voluntarily provide to us during the hiring process. 

Medical Information 

Information you voluntarily provide to us, including information about your medical condition or disability status for potential accommodations. 

Information About Protected Classification 

To the extent permitted by law, we may collect information that you voluntarily provide to us regarding your protected classification, such as gender, race/ethnic origin and/or veteran status, in order for us to conduct equal opportunity monitoring. Providing us this information is entirely voluntary, and your application will not be affected in any manner if you decline to provide it. If you choose to provide such information to us, the information will be kept and remain anonymous, will not be used to evaluate you, and will not be used for the purpose of inferring any characteristics about you. 

 

Within the past 12 months, we have collected the above-listed categories of Personal Information from job applicants. We will not collect additional categories of Personal Information beyond those listed above without first providing you notice. Personal Information does not include information excluded from the scope of “personal information” or “personal data” under applicable privacy laws. We do not sell or share your Personal Information that we collect as part of the application process to any third parties, and we have not sold or shared such Personal Information within the past twelve (12) months. 

Where We Collect Your Information From 

We may collect these categories of Personal Information from the following sources: 

  • Directly from you, such as from your job application and any other materials or information you provide to us during the application process. 
  • From recruitment-related service providers who help us process applications. For example, as part of the application process, we may require applicants to submit their application through an outside service provider’s talent recruitment online platform that we utilize. Such service providers’ platforms contain their own privacy policies, which we do not control, and we encourage you to read to understand how they may use your information.  
  • Publicly available sources, such as the Internet, social media, and public records 
  • Automated tracking technologies if you visit our website or mobile app during the application process. 
  • Surveillance and recording technologies, if you visit any of our facilities or leave us a voicemail during the application process. 
  • Government or administrative agencies. 

How We Use Job Applicants’ Personal Information 

We collect the above-referenced categories of your Personal Information to facilitate application, interview, and hiring processes and enable us to make hiring decisions regarding qualified candidates. For example, we may use the Personal Information to: 

  • Evaluate your qualifications and candidacy for the position(s) that you applied for. 
  • Confirm the information submitted in your application is true and accurate. 
  • Communicate with you about your application and candidacy. 
  • Conduct a pre-employment background check. 
  • Comply with applicable employment laws and recordkeeping requirements. 
  • Improve our existing recruiting and hiring processes. 

We may also use your Personal Information to fulfill other “business purposes” as defined under applicable law, such as to prevent fraud and help maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our website, mobile application, products and services, databases, and other technology assets, our facilities and stores, and our business. 

We do not collect or process any sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you. 

How We Disclose Applicants’ Personal Information 

We will not sell or share a job applicant’s Personal Information to any third party. We may, however, disclose Personal Information we collect about you to certain service providers. We may utilize our trusted service providers to provide talent recruitment and analytics services to us. Service providers will only be permitted to use your Personal Information for the purposes disclosed to you in this Applicant Privacy Policy, and in accordance with our instructions. 

Our service providers may also include: 

  • Our Affiliates: We may disclose your Personal Information to our affiliates located in the United States or internationally, such as parent, subsidiary, and/or other affiliated entities, who are acting in the capacity as our service providers. Our affiliates may provide us with support services in relation to the processing of your Personal Information in connection with the application process, to fulfill the purposes for which your Personal Information was collected. This processing activity may include providing analytic services, data storage, or similar services on our behalf. 
  • Background Check Companies: Personal Information may be disclosed to our vendors who provide background check services, to facilitate routine background screening of applicants as part of our hiring process. 

We will disclose Personal Information when required or permitted by law, such as in response to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, regulatory or contractual requirements, government investigations, or discovery requests in litigation. 

If we are involved in a merger or acquisition or a corporate transaction involving the sale or assignment of some or all our business, we may disclose the Personal Information to a purchaser or a potential purchaser as part of due diligence, but such disclosure will be pursuant to a confidentiality agreement. 

Data Retention 

If we hire you, then all the Personal Information you submitted as part of your application, and any other Personal Information we collected about you during the application and hiring process, will be retained by us as a part of your employee file. We may use such information to administer the employment relationship with you, and for any other applicable legal compliance, reporting, and recordkeeping purposes. We will retain such information for the entire duration of your employment with us, and for a period of six (6) years thereafter, or for a longer period if legally required. 

If you are not hired by us, then we will retain your Personal Information for up to two (2) years after the non-hiring decision was made, unless a different retention period is required by law. During this period, your Personal Information may be used for internal recordkeeping and reporting purposes. If you apply for a new position during this period, we may use your already-submitted information as part of considering you for any new positions.

  • Right to Deletion. You may request that we delete Personal Information you provide. Please note we may deny your deletion request as permitted or required under applicable law. 
  • Right to Correction of Inaccurate Data. You may request that we correct any inaccurate Personal Information about you, taking into account the nature of the Personal Information and the purposes of processing your Personal Information. 
  • Right to Data Portability. You may request to obtain a copy of your Personal Information that you previously provided to us and to receive it in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format that would allow you to transmit the Personal Information to another controller without hindrance, where the processing is carried out by automated means. 
  • Right to Opt Out. You may request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your Personal Information or the processing of your Personal Information for purposes of targeted advertising. 
  • Right to Limit the Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information: You may have the right to request that we limit the use of your Sensitive Personal Information to only those uses that are necessary to perform the services that you reasonably expect from us.

Non-Discrimination 

We will not discriminate or retaliate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights under applicable state law.  

Changes to Our Applicant Privacy Policy 

We reserve the right to amend this Applicant Privacy Policy at our discretion at any time. We may change this policy from time to time. When we make changes to this Applicant Privacy Policy, we will post the updated policy on our Website and update the policy’s “last updated” date. The new policy will apply to all current and past job applicants including all information collected before the date of the change. However, if we make a material change regarding how we use or process your Personal Information from what was previously disclosed to you in this Applicant Privacy Policy, we will contact you before doing so and obtain your consent.
